Momme (or weight): Momme is a unit of mass for silk fabric that indicates the density and thickness of the fabric. The higher the momme number, the denser and heavier the fabric and the higher the quality it is considered. In general, higher momme fabrics are more sensitive and durable. This means that a silk pillowcase with a higher momme will simply last you longer. There are 19, 22, and 25 momme silk pillowcases available on the market. Fabric Type: There are different types of silk fabrics. Mulberry silk is one of the most common and high-quality varieties of silk, used in making pillowcases, bedding, and clothing. Mulberry silk is also one of the most prized and expensive fabrics on the market.

Texture and Feel: A quality silk fabric should be smooth, soft and luxurious. Keep in mind that natural silk fabric wrinkles and needs a gentle ironing after washing to keep it looking shiny and luxurious again.
